UPDATE: Virginia Bourgoin has been safely located, according to police.
VASSALBORO — A Silver Alert was issued Thursday night for Virginia Bourgoin, 79, of Vassalboro, according to officials.

A Silver Alert is a public notification that broadcasts information about a missing person, especially a senior citizen.
Bourgoin left her residence on Oak Grove Road at an unknown time Thursday to attend a 2:30 p.m. appointment in Waterville, according to the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
Bourgoin is described as a white female, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 180 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.
The Sheriff’s Office reported Bourgoin was driving a silver 2005 Buick LeSabre with Maine license plates.
Bourgoin’s last credit card purchase was at a fast food restaurant in Waterville, officials said.
Bourgoin, who has been suffering memory loss, would typically travel outside the area only to visit the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, according to information from the Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone who sees or has information about Bourgoin should call Deputy Allen Wood at the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office at 207-624-7076, ext. 9.
