LEWISTON — Tife Agunloye’s late goal elevated the Bates College men’s soccer team to a 2-1 home win over UMaine-Farmington on Tuesday.

Edward Little alumnus Christian Beliveau scored off an assist by fellow former Red Eddies standout Mohamed Adow a little more than two minutes into the contest to put the Beavers (7-8-2) ahead 1-0.

An own goal 14 minutes later in favor of the Bobcats (4-9-1) tied the game. The score remained 1-1 until Ollie Schiff Stein set up Agunloye for the game-winner with two seconds remaining in the game.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
UMF 3, E. NAZARENE 1: Monmouth Academy graduate Audrey Fletcher scored a goal and assisted on another in the Beavers’ (6-9-1, 3-4 NAC) victory over the Lions (1-9-4, 1-3-2) in Farmington.

Fletcher scored the first goal off an assist by Abby Lash. Mt. Blue alumnus Hannah Wilbur made it 2-0 with a goal assisted by Emily Boyle. Fletcher set up Grace Mahmood to cap UMaine-Farmington’s scoring.

UMF goalie Paige Gonya, a former Oak Hill standout, made four saves, while counterpart Mackenzie Quick stopped eight shots for the Lions.

Kayla Dorn scored Eastern Nazarene’s goal. Kenna Cruise recorded the assist.

FIELD HOCKEY
THOMAS 7, UMF 0: Julia Reny scored four times as the Terriers (10-6, 2-1) thrashed the Beavers (1-13, 1-3) in Farmington.

Samantha Thebarge scored Thomas College’s other three goals. Mt. Blue graduate Eva-Marie Stevens assisted on Thebarge’s first two goals. Kara Richards also had two assists and Thebarge had one.

UMaine-Farmington goalie Ella Grant made 17 saves.
