This past June, voters approved the new school budget for the Augusta Public Schools. Unfortunately, that budget included a tax increase of 4.7%. Things aren’t getting any cheaper and taxpayers are taking a hard hit.

I’ve known Aaron Kregenow, a candidate for Augusta school board, for years now. He’s a passionate young man with a desire to help people in Augusta and most importantly our kids. As the new person on the scene he will provide a fresh perspective on the school board. We need more young people like Aaron involved and willing to make a difference. With the new tax increases, Aaron wants to make sure that money actually makes it to the classroom. He wants to make sure that funds are spent on things that directly benefit our students’ education.

There is a lot of change happening with Augusta schools. A new business manager and soon there will be a new superintendent. This fresh start gives me some hope. We need new blood and we need a new perspective. That is why I hope you join me in supporting Aaron Kregenow for Augusta school board.
