BELGRADE – It is with great sadness that the family of Frank Chester Mitchell Jr., of Belgrade, announces his passing on Oct. 21, 2023, at the age of 89, after a brief illness.

As a youth, Frank attended the Scarborough School system. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Higbee and was also in the Coast Guard Reserves.

He and his devoted wife Ruth enjoyed 66 years of marriage. During that time, he worked for the United Parcel Service and then enjoyed a long, wonderful retirement of travel and visiting his children. He was also active in the Masons/Shriners.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Ruth. He also leaves behind a daughter, Dawne-Marie (Chuck), two sons Timothy (Kathy), and Andrew (Becky), nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by his parents, F. Chester and Ethel Mitchell, and his sister Ruth. He will be greatly missed by family and many friends.

The family would like to thank all his dedicated caregivers.
