Gloria L. Dubord

AUGUSTA – Gloria L. Dubord, 79, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2023 at the MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Augusta following a long illness.

She was born in Augusta on April 9, 1944, a daughter of the late Florian L. and Marianne (Sirois) LeBlanc.

Mrs. Dubord was a high school graduate and a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She had been employed by Hallowell Shoe Company for many years and also had worked for a short time Hazzard Shoe Company.

Gloria’s passions included ceramics, wood working, knitting and quilting. Some of her favorite times were spent quilting with the girls in building 2017 at MacDill Airforce base. Gloria was secretary of the North Augusta Trail Blazers for many years. She loved camping with family and friends, and she traveled all over the United States and Canada with her husband.

Mrs. Dubord is survived by her husband of 58 years, Maurice J. Dubord of Augusta; two sons, Karl Dubord and his wife Heather of Windsor and Jeffrey Dubord and his companion Michele Pelletier of Rome; two sisters, Lorette Fornier of Monmouth and Constance Bossie of Augusta; two grandsons, Nicholas Dubord and his fiancée, Brooke Butler of Whitefield and Jarrett Dubord and his significant other, Madelynn Murphy of Windsor; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
