Multi-instrumentalist Noah Fishman will be featured at the Oasis of Music beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Trinity Commons in Lewiston. His program will include music of his own composition, that of his friends and colleagues, and tunes from many traditions.

Fishman is a performer, composer, and educator. Rooted in Maine, he ventures to make bold, playful statements by bending lines between folk, chamber, and jazz. At home on a number of stringed instruments including mandolin, bass, and guitar, he is known for his instrumental creativity, spirited performances, and fluid improvisation. He has performed across the United States, Estonia, Poland, Sweden, Slovenia, Ireland, and The Netherlands.

Raised by visual artists in a renovated barn, Fishman studied at Princeton, IRCAM, and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2019, he was selected for the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead residency at The Kennedy Center. In 2020, he received a masters degree in composition from the University of Michigan.

In addition to his work as a soloist and bandleader, he loves working with other artists and ensembles. In 2022-2023, he could be found on tour with Frigg, Nefesh Mountain, Alisa Amador, Mike Block Trio, and Big Magic. For more information, visit noahfishmanmusic.com.
