The boys had so much fun in April that they are coming back again and are calling themselves The Pine Tree Pickers.

An evening of guitar picking with guitar virtuosos Denny Breau, Sean Mencher, Peter Albert and Hugh Bowden, some of Maine’s finest guitar pickers all on one stage together singing in the round, will be presented at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, at The Hill Arts in Portland.

Breau is a triple threat: a consummate picker, evocative songwriter, and a singer with a voice that is warm and inviting but completely unpretentious; Mencher is, “hands down, one of the finest guitarists ever to call Maine home,” Chris Busby wrote in The Bollard in his review of Mencher’s latest album; Albert, a lifelong resident of Maine, is an accomplished musician with over 30 years of experience as a solo guitarist; and Bowdon taught himself to play the guitar as a youth in rural Maine after becoming captivated by the music of legendary guitarist Chet Atkins. He now lives in Ellsworth and has performed widely throughout Maine.

Tickets are $22 in advance/$26 at the door. The Hill Arts is located at 76 Congress St., Portland. For more information, visit thehillarts.me/events/pine-tree-pickers.
