FARMINGTON — Voters in the 10 towns of Regional School Unit 9 approved on Tuesday the purchase of the Holman Mission House at 227 Main St. to house administrative offices and store records. The vote was 3,621 to 1,780.

The district will use $550,000 in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds to finalize its lease-purchase agreement.

The property is owned by Old South First Congregational Church, which acquired it in 2002 and put the house up for sale in April 2022.

RSU 9 Superintendent Christian Elkington said at a public hearing in October that the primary intent is to move district offices away from the Mt. Blue campus to free up space for students.
