Modern Woodmen of America members in Oakland recently came together to donate emergency blankets.
The project, which took place Nov. 1 at Oakland Fire Department, will benefit the Oakland area community whereby these blankets will be utilized by First Responders to comfort those in need after responding to a call for emergency services.
“We’re so happy to support our community in this way,” said Patrick Linehan, local Modern Woodmen volunteer leader, according to a news release from the chapter. “Events like this give our members an opportunity to make a difference.”
Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, the fraternal financial services organization’s chapters and youth service clubs provide opportunities for members to take part in social and educational activities and volunteer projects to meet local needs.
