LEWISTON – Ryan W. Stanley, 52, passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, at his group home with his family and friends by his side, after a brief battle with cancer.
Ryan was born to Harland Stanley Jr. and Nancy Stanley of Gardiner on Nov. 29, 1970.
Ryan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to country music, going to his day program “The Shop”, participating in Special Olympics, and loved making people laugh.
Ryan was predeceased by his parents, Harland and Nancy Stanley; grandparents, Donald and Leah Gould, Harland Sr. and Candice Stanley; and brother Eben Stanley.
Ryan is survived by his brother Jon Stanley of Gardiner; niece Chasity Stanley of Gardiner, Chandra Stanley of Augusta; great niece Leah Gold Hammer of Augusta; uncle Thomas and Nancy Gould of Pittston, uncle Donald Gould of Sangerville, aunt Bonnie Powers of Gardiner, aunt Jana Willman of Titusville, Fla.; and special childhood friend Erin Foster.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the loving, caring staff, and friends at John F. Murphy Homes.
A graveside service will be held at Libby Hill Cemetery in Gardiner on Wednesday Nov. 15 at 11 a.m.
