WATERVILLE — The board of directors of the Humane Society Waterville Area has announced that Rae-Ann Demos will be stepping down as executive director, effective Dec. 1.
Over the course of her tenure, Demos has been instrumental in many new initiatives to improve the work of the organization and the quality of life of animals in the Central Maine region, according to a news release from the board.
Demos has had many significant accomplishments during her time as executive director, including: Expansion of low-cost spay/neuter services for the local community; procurement of a new gifted vehicle for canine transports; facility improvements including the construction of a new feline intake room; and collaborative development of a new multi-stakeholder feral cat program.
