CLINTON — A man escaped with only minor injuries, authorities said Saturday, after his pickup truck rolled over Friday morning and pinned him within the vehicle.

In a social media post, the Clinton Fire Department said the crash occurred on Hill Road near the Interstate-95 overpass at around 7:30 a.m. Friday. First responders arrived to find the red Dodge Ram truck overturned on the guardrail, with its single occupant still inside, lying on his stomach.

The driver was treated on the scene by an EMS crew, but could not be extricated due to severe damage to the car’s roof. First responders used hydraulic tools to remove the driver from the truck before he was hospitalized with minor injuries.

It was not immediately apparent what caused the crash, nor was it clear if the driver was wearing a seatbelt. Contacted Saturday, a representative from Clinton Fire Department said they could not provide further details.
