ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Ret. Navy Senior Chief David Easler passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 24, 2023, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine, Florida. David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jennie Easler, his siblings Dolores and Cary and his son Dennis.

David served 20 years in the Navy, including a tour in Vietnam. After retiring from the Navy in 1974 he worked in commercial nuclear power plants, on the space shuttle program and on the Trident Missile Program.

He was fond of racehorses, casinos, shirt shopping (even more he enjoyed haggling for a good deal) and meeting new people. He was an expert woodworker. He grew up in a rural area with few opportunities, so decided to join the Navy because he wanted more from life. He took every chance to improve himself and his mind, succeeding at anything he put his mind to.
