Winnifred “Winnie” Smith Adams

BINGHAM – Winnifred “Winnie” Smith Adams, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023. Winnie was born in Oakfield on Nov. 4, 1932, to Charles “Sanford” and Lucy Barrows Smith and was the wife of the late Vinal Elroy Adams of Bingham.

Winnie was a longtime member of The First Church of the Nazarene in Bingham where throughout her membership she taught Sunday school, was Secretary of Sunday school, and Treasurer for over 30 years. During her 53 years in Bingham she worked several jobs within the community including monitoring phones for the Ambulance Service, helping Vinal run Napa Auto Parts, working at the Health Center, and at E.W. Moore and Sons Pharmacy.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Couch and husband William of North Carolina, Karen Caffyn and husband Thomas Caffyn Jr of Skowhegan; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers Halden “Mooch” Smith and Gordon Smith.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 at The First Church of The Nazarene in Bingham.
