The photographs of Nancy Preble and the paintings of Sarah Martin are on display for the month of December in the Woman’s Hospital Association Rotating Art Gallery at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

A lifelong resident of the Twin Cities, Preble has been exhibited at numerous venues in Maine including the University of Southern Maine, L/A College area artist show in 2011, 2013 and 2015, the Fryeburg Fair from 2003-2016, the L/A Art Walk as well as the Sportsmen of Maine show from 2011-2016. She has several awards for her work including a 2nd place award for her image “Winter Wonderland” in 2002 on the maine.gov website.

Martin is a self-taught artist who enjoys working with acrylics. It started as a hobby but eventually turned into a form of therapy after an unexpected MS diagnosis. She explains she is “happiest sitting in front of my canvas painting whimsical sceneries and seascapes helping me to cope with the ups and downs of this illness.”

The works on display may be purchased through the WHA Gift Shop located adjacent to the main lobby at Central Maine Medical Center. A percentage of sale proceeds benefits patients of CMMC.
