WINSLOW — Balanced scoring and a defensive effort that allowed just four first-half points led the Winslow boys basketball team to a 62-24 victory over Belfast on Tuesday.

Matt Quirion had a 12 points and eight rebounds for Winslow (2-0), which also got 12 points from Matt Reynolds. Brady Poulin added 11 points for the Black Raiders, and Braden Rodrigue had nine points and seven rebounds.

Eli Veilleux led the way for Belfast (0-2) with 11 points.

 

FOREST HILLS 62, NORTH HAVEN 6: Cooper Daigle led the way with 14 points, 11 rebounds and five assists as the Tigers earned the win in Jackman.

Braidan Welch and Jaxson Desjardins added 11 points each for Forest Hills (3-0). Blaine Nadeau joined them in double figures with 10 points.

Tucker Brown had a team-high three points for North Haven (0-2).

 

MADISON 54, TELSTAR/GOULD 43: Ethan Linkletter led the way with 16 points as the Bulldogs took down the Rebels in Madison.

Deacon Murray (15 points) and Nate Cornforth (10 points) joined Linkletter in double figures for Madison (2-0). Brode Strout (eight) and Brayden Furbush (five) rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs.

Brody Morgan had a game-high 19 points for Telstar/Gould (0-2).

LAKE REGION 70, OAK HILL 50: Brock Gibbons and Evan Duprey combined for 18 first-half points for the Lakers as they cruised past the Raiders in Naples.

Gibbons finished with 20 points for Lake Region (2-0), while Duprey tossed in 12.

Landon Denis powered the offense for Oak Hill (0-1) with 19 points. Isaac Galvez added 10.

 

SKOWHEGAN 67, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 55: Adam Fitzgerald scored 25 points and Ryan Donoghue added 24 as the River Hawks prevailed in Skowhegan.

Dom Clifford added 13 points for Skowhegan (2-0), which outscored Hampden 49-29 in the second half.

Zach McLaughlin scored 25 points for the Broncos (0-2), and teammate J.J. Wolfington added 15.

 

WINTHROP 60, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 34: Cole Bard scored 17 points as the Ramblers (2-0) earned the easy win at Winthrop.

Carter Rivers added 13 points and Chan Ring 11 for Winthrop.

MARANACOOK 62, MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 55: Keagan McClure scored 21 points as the Black Bears won in Readfield.

Elijah Freeman aded 11 points for Maranacook (2-0), which led 35-25 at the half.

Owen Moore netted 20 points for MCI (0-2), followed by Drew Shorey (12) and Mack Merrow (10).

 

GARDINER 70, ERSKINE ACADEMY 56: The Tigers outscored the Eagles 21-12 in the third quarter to pull away en route to victory in Gardiner.

Zach Kristan had 13 points for Gardiner (1-1), which also got 13 points from freshman Trace Moody. Cody Dingwell (12 points), Brady Davidson (10 points, six rebounds) and Brayden Elliott (eight points, seven assists) also made contributions for the Tigers.

Keenan Clark led the way for Erskine (1-1) with a game-high 23 points.

 

MT. ABRAM 57, VALLEY 47: Cam Grey scored 20 points for the Roadrunners in a Class C/D crossover victory over the Cavaliers in Bingham.

Payton Mitchell scored 12 points, while Logan Dube added 10 points for Mt. Abram (2-0).

Fisher Tewksbury led Valley (0-2) with 23 points, while Harry Louis added 18.

HALL-DALE 77, WATERVILLE 36: Rishi Duvvuru scored 15 points as the Bulldogs used a balanced attack to earn their first win of the season in Farmingdale.

Karter Eldridge (14 points), Eben Austin (11) and Keegan Cary (10) also scored in double figures for Hall-Dale (1-1).

Derek Couture and Garrett Gendreau scored 10 points apiece for Waterville (0-2).

HALL-DALE 92, WATERVILLE 25: Jade Graham had 22 points and five rebounds to lead the Bulldogs (1-0) to a victory over the Purple Panthers (0-2) in a Class B/C crossover in Waterville.

Hayden Madore scored 16 points, while Sierra Gibbons and Jenna Lee each added 10 points for Hall-Dale.

Mara Von Oesen led Waterville with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Ava and Bella Smith both contributed 10 points for Lake Region.

NYA 45, WINTHROP 42: Ella Giguere stole the ball for a buzzer-beating layup and was fouled, finshing the three-point play, to lift North Yarmouth Academy to a win in Yarmouth.

Graca Bila scored 19 points for NYA (2-0), while Giguere finished with 14.

Kylee Mansir scored 19 points for Winthrop (1-1).
