William Leroy Colburn III
CHELSEA – William L. Colburn III passed away on Dec. 13, 2023.
Bill was born and raised in Rumford, Maine, the son of William Jr. “Snuffy” and Mary Simone “Sim” Colburn. Bill was an avid hunter, fisherman and fly tyer. He took great pride in his job as a bridge inspector for the State of Maine, and retired after many years of being on the road for his work. He had a great sense of humor, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was the consummate “Mainah”. He is survived by his siblings, Lucien Colburn and wife Linda of Bangor, Maureen Stasulis of Green, Marianne Hargraves and husband Dan of Bath, and Margaret Gilbert and husband Bill of Rumford and many nieces and nephews.
He will be especially missed by his long time partner and love of his life, Jackie Jean of Chelsea.
There will be no services per his request, but will be a celebration of life next summer. (Have to have black flies at the celebration).
Donations may be made in his name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine, or the Travis Mills Foundation.
