WATERVILLE — Mara Van Oesen scored 31 points as the Waterville girls basketball team beat Oak Hill 55-31 on Friday.

Van Oesen was 11 for 16 from the free-throw line, including 8 for 10 in the first quarter. The Purple Panthers (2-2) led 27-14 at halftime. Madison Gervais added 10 points for Waterville.

Mackenzee Wardwell scored nine points for Oak Hill (0-3).

 

VALLEY 72, SEARSPORT 21: Madeline Hill scored 24 points and added five steals as the Cavaliers (5-0) remained undefeated with the easy win in Bingham.

Liana Hartwell had 13 points, 12 rebounds, five steals and four assists for Valley, while Kirsten Bigelow had 17 points and five steals. Riley Clark pulled down nine rebounds.

Emily Meilo scored 10 points for Searsport (2-2).

 

NYA 65, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 27: Graca Bila registered 31 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals to power the Panthers to the win in Monmouth.

Ella Giguere added 14 points and Ava Wilkinson scored 10 for NYA (4-0).

Maeve Burgess led Monmouth (0-5) with 11 points.

 

BOYS HOCKEY

 

CONY/MONMOUTH/ERSKINE/MT. BLUE/RICHMOND 2, MARSHWOOD/TRAIP/SANFORD/NOBLE 1: Ray Dineen’s goal with 2:42 remaining lifted Cony/Monmouth/Erskine/Mt. Blue/Richmondto a win at Dover Ice Arena in New Hampshire.
Marshwood took the lead just 1:01 into the game on a goal by Bradley Wentworth.
Cooper Clark tied it midway through the second.
Landon Foster made 33 saves for Cony (2-1-0). Knighthawks (2-3-0) goalie Connor Lentz stopped 17 shots in his first start of the season.
