Thelma A. Luszczki

WINTHROP- Thelma A. Luszczki 89, passed away at Maine General Medical Center on Dec. 5, 2023, with her loving family at her side. Thelma was born on Oct. 8, 1934, in Monmouth, the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Baston) Tibbetts. She lived in Winthrop her entire life graduating from Winthrop High School, class of 1953. Shortly thereafter she married the love of her live, Lucien J. Luszczki Sr., and they settled in Winthrop and started their family.

In their weekend free time, Thelma and Lucien enjoyed planning and traveling with their children on many summer family trips to the Maine coastline beaches, climbing Mount Pisgah for picnics and blueberry picking, fishing, and swimming at numerous local beaches, and in the winter months enjoyed ice fishing and snowmobiling on Wilson Pond in Monmouth.

Thelma worked at Chick Apple Orchards Inc in Monmouth for 30-plus years before her retirement

Thelma is survived by her children and spouses, Lucien Luszczki Jr., (Sandra), Cindy Luszczki Richardson, (Gilbert), Edward Luszczki, (Linda), Carl Luszczki, (Marcia).

Thelma cherished her grandchildren, Matthew Richardson, Mia Pollis, Amanda Arsenault, Garrett Luszczki, Brian Luszczki, and Dana Luszczki.

She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Hunter and Spencer Richardson, Addison Pollis, Mason and Austin Arsenault, Everett, Piper Ann, and Graham Luszczki, Julia and Brian Jr., Luszczki.

Thelma was predeceased by her parents, Lester and Dorothy, her husband, Lucien Joseph Luszczki Sr., and all of her family siblings, sister Esther Tibbett’s Green, and eight brothers, Oral, Richard, Alton, Edgar, Earl. Alvin, Lawrence, and Lester Jr.

Per Thelma’s wishes, a graveside service will be held at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, in the Spring.
