AUBURN – Kenneth Everett Page, a lifelong resident of Leeds passed away on Tuesday Dec. 12, 2023, at the age of 84. Ken was the son of Frederick R. Page and Inez M. (Carville) Page. He attended Leeds schools and graduated from Leavitt Institute, class of 1957. On November 28, 1964, Kenneth Page and Frances Stanhope joined hands in marriage at the Leeds Community Church. Together they raised three children, two daughters and a son. They enjoyed 54 years together until Frances’ death on March 1, 2019. As a gifted mechanic, Ken spoke fondly of his first job working at Marcotte Chevrolet in Lewiston. To support his growing family, he went to work at International Paper Company in Jay as a millwright, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club for International Paper. Ken passed along his mechanical knowledge to his son Mark. They spent many hours of Mark’s youth tinkering under the hood of a vehicle in the garage. Ultimately this led to Mark’s successful business, Page’s Repair. In 1989 Ken and Frances established the New Frontier Farm where they raised beef cattle, sold farm fresh eggs and hay. Ken prepared a beautiful garden plot every spring for Frances. The entire Page family and many neighbors would benefit from the fruits of her labor. It was on the farm that Ken and Frances shined as grandparents by teaching each child the importance of hard work and a love of animals and nature. Ken was very appreciative of the numerous homemade meals that his daughters and Tammy made for him over the past 4 years since Frances had passed. He was the first to admit that he was no cook. Ken loved chocolate cake and would always need to “square it off” after it had been served. This was his creative way of getting a second helping. Ken was proud of the fact that he lived his entire life on the North Road and believed he was the longest North Road resident. He found purpose in life simply by keeping busy. If you stopped by to visit Ken, it might take a while to locate him. Most likely he would be out in one of his fields on one of his many tractors. Ken will be missed by family, friends and neighbors. Kenneth Page is survived by his two daughters, Karen Adams of Leeds, Kathy Gleason and husband Edward of Winthrop, his son Mark Page and fiancée Tammy Veinott of Leeds, 5 grandchildren Travis Adams and wife Tori, Curtis Adams, Helen Schmitt and husband David, Molly Dow, and Amanda Richardson and husband Justin, 4 great grandchildren, Arabella Richardson, and Angus, Ethel and Hazel Adams, a sister Joan Williams of North Carolina along with a nephew, several nieces and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main Street, Monmouth, Maine. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. -12 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the spring at the Leeds Center Cemetery, Rt. 106, Leeds, Maine.
