CORRALES, N.M. – Jeanne Clark, daughter of Samuel Jr. and Doris Clark died Nov. 13, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Corrales, New Mexico. She was 92 and was born in Leicester, Mass., on Jan. 4, 1931.

She is survived by a brother, Stephen Clark of Portland, four children, Gregor of San Jose, Calif., Karl of Madison, Wis., Andre of Taos, N.M., and Ariadne of Corrales, N.M., and several grandchildren.

Jeanne had married Christian von Huene, a doctor who practiced for may years in the Albuquerque, N.M., area.

Jean grew up in the Oakland school system and graduated from Williams High School, class of 1949. She graduated from Westbrook Junior College and later earned two degrees at the University of New Mexico, achieved her Masters in Fine Arts and later a teaching degree in art. She was an active painter most of her life specializing in landscapes and taught art in many New Mexico schools.

Jean never lost her love of Maine even though she lived much of her life far away in New Mexico. She often would return, staying summers, just to seek her favorite food, Maine lobster rolls.
