SKOWHEGAN – Sandra Ellen Darge, 86, of Skowhegan passed away peacefully on Dec. 23, 2023 surrounded by family. Born in North Anson to Edwin and Ruth Savage she was a lover of life and an amazing story teller.

Sandra married the love of her life Ronald on March 9, 1957, spending 53 wonderful years together. During those years she enjoyed many roles. Along with being a devoted Navy wife, she was an amazing mother and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a passion for animals and enjoyed showing cattle and raising horses. For many years she was a caretaker of those in need. She later enjoyed retirement wintering in Florida, spending time on the boat while Ron fished or just basking in the warmth.

She is survived by her children, August Darge and daughter-in-law Suzette of Canaan, Anna Darge Goodwin of Auburn, and Bill Darge and daughter-in-law Tiffany of Rockland; grandchildren Tonya Goucher and husband Seth, LoRay Scott, Kristy Jensen, Will Darge II, Stephen Goodwin and partner Misty Grace, Amanda Clark and husband Justyn, Julie White and husband JC, Lauren Darge, Parker Darge; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Sandy was predeceased by husband Ronald, son Ronald “Butchie”, daughter Jenny Spencer, and grandson Kaldon Goodwin.

In accordance with her wishes, no memorial service is planned at this time. A burial will be held in the spring with immediate family.
