Theresa Mae Foss

LEWISTON – Theresa Mae Foss passed peacefully Dec. 29, 2023, at Russell Park Manor, her place of residence, with her daughter Louise by her side.

Theresa was born in Smithfield, on April 22, 1946, to Ruhl and Ethelyn (Clark) Foss. She attended Rome Elementary School and the Oakland School System. She eventually got her diploma from Cony High School. Those who knew her realized Theresa (Tess) had a big heart and always tried to please her friends and loved ones. Theresa enjoyed volunteering at The Clubhouse in Waterville and the LINC Wellness Center in Augusta. She enjoyed playing cards (especially with her nephew Scotty), bingo, and speaking on the phone with her family and friends. Theresa enjoyed family reunions and always wanted to plan one of her own at the Rome Elementary School and the time she spent with her cousin Sheila as well as her talks with Kelly “Spitfire”.

Theresa was predeceased by her father and mother Ruhl and Ethelyn, her aunt Hildred Clark, her brother in-law Birchard Rose, Sr. and his sons Rick and Scotty and her dear friends Anita Gendron and Anita Roy.

Theresa is survived by her children Penelope and Shawn Nava and their children Heather, Maria, and Lyndsey, Louise Perkins and her children April, Ashley, and Bret, and Junior and Rachel Perkins and their children Olivia and Aaron. She is also survived by her siblings and their families Charlotte, Mary and David, William and Karen, Cheryl and Bruce, and Candice and Mike as well as eight great grandchildren.

Theresa was diagnosed as bipolar early in her life and it affected not only her own life, but that of her whole family and her friends as well. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to Emil at Kennebec Behavioral Health, Alyson, Caitlyn and the staff at Russell Park Manor, and the staff at Snow Pond (now Bella Point) in Sidney.

Very special thanks to John, Beth, and Johnny.
