BELFAST — Derek Couture scored 26 points as the Waterville boys basketball team defeated Belfast 64-49 on Thursday night.

Elijah Cullen added 13 points and Chris Nawfel 10 for Waterville (2-6), which led 35-32 at halftime.

Elias Higgins scored 13 points for Belfast (0-6), followed by Andrew Haas with 11.

 

MT. ABRAM 72, OAK HILL 35: Payton Mitchell led a balanced scoring attack as the Roadrunners (6-0) remained unbeaten with a win in Salem Township.

Mitchell led all scorers with 20 points and Cam Grey pitched in with 17 for Mt. Abram, which had all 10 players who took the court score at least two points.

Landon Denis paced Oak Hill (1-5) with 11 points while Eli Desmond added 10.

 

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 67, TELSTAR/GOULD 42: Sammy Calder scored 30 points, including 19 in the first half, to pace the Mustangs (6-1) in Monmouth.

Calder put up 10 points in the opening quarter on five field goals, then added nine more in the second.

Bingham Abbott finished with 10 points for Monmouth, while Levi Laverdiere tallied nine, Kyle Palleschi eight and Lucas Harmon scored seven.

Reiley Hedden hit six 3s and scored 23 points for Tesltar/Gould (3-3),  while Brady Morgan contributed nine points.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 73, ERSKINE ACADEMY 57: Kory Donlan had 13 of his 27 points in the first half for the Panthers (8-1) as they ran out to a 37-23 halftime advantage and topped the visiting Eagles (2-4) at Waldoboro.

Gabe Lash had 14 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for Medomak Valley, while Mason Nguyen added 12 points, with Donlan also grabbing 14 rebounds.

Keenen Clark had 18 points to lead Erskine Academy, while Tristan Anderson knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points.

 

WINSLOW 53, LEAVITT 29: Braden Rodrigue’s 24-point effort led the Black Raiders (4-3) over the Hornets (2-6) in Turner.

Matt Quirion added 10 points and Carter Calvo contributed nine for Winslow, which outscored Leavitt 18-7 in the second quarter and 17-7 in the fourth.

Thirteen players saw action for the Hornets, who were led by Mason Henderson’s eight points.
