Kevin Lee McDougall

FLORIDA – Kevin Lee McDougall, 66, of Winter Haven, Fla., passed away unexpectedly at home on Dec. 31, 2023. He was born in Waterville, on Dec. 14, 1957, to the late Harold and Lela Jean (Bessey) McDougall.

Kevin grew up in Oakland, and graduated from Messalonskee High School in 1976. He later attended the University of Maine at Augusta, graduating in 1986. Following high school, Kevin enlisted in the U.S. Army and served four years on active duty. Upon discharge from active duty, Kevin joined the Maine Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was employed by the Maine Army National Guard for more than thirty years, retiring in 2013 as Director of Information Management.

Following retirement, Kevin and his wife Julie moved to Florida where Kevin worked part-time at Disney World. Kevin enjoyed his retirement years in Florida – playing golf, woodworking, visiting Disney Parks and cruising on his golf cart were among his favorite pastimes. He especially enjoyed visits by family and friends who he loved to spend time with exploring the parks and other Florida attractions.

Kevin was a kind and caring man with a big heart, and he cared deeply for his friends and family. Kevin will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend. His warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew him. He had a passion for life and an unwavering dedication to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who loved and adored him.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Julie McDougall; his children, Zach McDougall and wife Megan, Marlene Crawford and Samantha McDougall; his brother, Michael McDougall and wife Hazel; sister Kelley Pfister; and grandchildren William Crawford IV and wife Jenna, Dustin Crawford, Quinn McDougall, Bodhi McDougall and Piper Chapman.

Funeral Services and a spring burial at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
