AUGUSTA – Marie Louise Lachance, 91, formerly of Highridge Drive, Augusta, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at the Augusta Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center following a period of declining health. She was born in Augusta, on July 19, 1932, a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mary Louise (Theriault) Lachance.

Marie Louise was educated at Our Lady of the Mountains Academy in Berlin, N.H.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Frank X. Pomerleau Store in Augusta for 10 years. She was previously employed for over 20 years by the Maine State Retirement System, and for several years by D.W. Adams Department Store.

Marie Louise was a communicant of St. Michael Parish at St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society, Le Club Calumet, Cushnoc Senior Citizens and a 25 year member of the Associates of Sisters of St. Joseph.

She was predeceased by her brothers: Norman, Emile, J. Leo and Roger Lachance and her sister, Yvette M. Richards. Ms. Lachance is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Marie Louise appreciated the loving care and support she received from staff while she lived at Augusta Rehab Center.

There will be no public visiting hours. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 16 at 11 a.m., at St. Monica’s Chapel, Kendall St., Augusta. Burial will be in the spring in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Augusta.
