Mid-Coast Audubon and Camden Public Library plan to host Kirk Gentelen for a program, Tracking Wildlife in Maine, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18.

The gathering will be held at the Camden Public Library, 55 Main St. Camden.

This will be a hybrid program with an option to participate on Zoom, which requires registration in advance at midcoast.maineaudubon.org.

Gentalen, the regional stewardship manager for the mid-coast for Maine Coast Heritage Trust, writes about the ecology of the area in his Nature Bummin’ blog. A self-described nature observer, one of his passions is tracking wildlife especially in winter. He can read their tracks like the news and figure out what the critters have been up to, according to a news release from Mid-Coast Aububon.

Gentalen takes care of the trust’s conserved lands on Vinalhaven and North Haven islands. That means taking care of trail and forestry needs and monitoring easements. He connects with island residents through environmental education, volunteering, and outreach programs.

Mid-Coast Audubon’s mission is to promote long-term, responsible use of natural resources through informed membership, education and community awareness.
