MONMOUTH — Sammy Calder surpassed 1,000 career points as the Monmouth Academy boys basketball team topped Madison 64-46 on Thursday night.

Calder finished with a game-high 27 points, which included making 8 of 9 free throw attempts. He also pulled down 16 rebounds. Kyle Palleschi added 10 points and Levi Laverdiere scored nine for Monmouth (7-2). The Mustangs seized control early in the game, outscoring Madison 38-25 in the first half and then 20-7 in the third quarter.

Nathan Cornforth led the Bulldogs (6-2) with 19 points, while Brode Strout had 11.

 

HALL-DALE 70, OAK HILL 56: Eben Austin’s 21 points led the way as Hall-Dale defeated Oak Hill 70-56 in boys basketball action Thursday.

Austin made three 3-pointers and scored 17 of his points after halftime for the Bulldogs (4-4) while Keegan Cary added 12 points.

Braden New was Oak Hill’s (1-8) top scorer with 12 points, while Landen Denis scored 11 and Eli Desmond and Braden Dubuc finished with nine each.

 

FOREST HILLS 62, TEMPLE ACADEMY 47: Jaxson Desjardins scored 25 points and Blaine Nadeau had a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds as the Tigers (7-3) earned the win Jackman.

Cooper Daigle added 13 points for Forest Hills, while Braidan Welch pulled down 10 rebounds.

Peyton Reckards scored 12 points and Gabe Young 10 for Temple Academy (4-5).

MT. BLUE 51, BREWER 43: Evans Sterling finished with 20 points for the undefeated Cougars, leading to a victory over the Witches in Brewer.

Tyler Abell added 13 points for Mt. Blue (9-0).

Steven Youngs contributed 15 points for Brewer (4-6) and Owen Fullerton added nine points.

MESSALONSKEE 57, NOKOMIS 35: Ashley Mullen scored 15 points as the Eagles (1-10) prevailed in Oakland for their first win of the season.

Mullen added three assists and three steals. Teammate Ella Hanson scored 12 points and Lexis Bayne had nine rebounds.

Danica Migliore scored 16 points for Nokomis (2-9).

 

FOREST HILLS 41, TEMPLE ACADEMY 38: Carli Frigon had 16 points and 12 rebounds as the Tigers (7-2) came away with the narrow win in Jackman.

Aurelie Poulin added 11 rebounds for Forest Hills, while Allie Dunning had nine rebounds and five assists.

Mia Fitzpatrick scored 14 points for Temple Academy (3-6), while Meredith Thompson added 10.
