NORRIDGEWOCK – Cynthia Lee “Cindy” Poirier, 65, went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Jan. 2, 2024, at Sebasticook Valley Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1958, in Jackman, Maine. Cindy was the daughter of Douglas and Carmaline (Frost) Emmons. She graduated from Madison Area Memorial High School as a member of the class of 1977. She married the love of her life, Randy F. Poirier, on June 18, 1983 in Starks, Maine.

Cindy started her work career at New Balance and Moriah’s Restaurant in Bingham. In 2001, she became the restaurant and bar manager at Northern Outdoors in the Forks.

Cindy was a devoted, loving daughter, wife, mother, Mimi and aunt. She and her husband Randy dedicated much of their lives caring for foster children in their home for over 20 years. They were even recognized as foster parents of the year. Cindy was an incredible cook, and everyone looked forward to family gatherings, because they knew she would bring her famous goodies, most popular were her cream puffs and whoopie pies.

Her favorite time spent was with her children and five grandsons. Simply put, they were her whole world, along with her two pups Lacy and Bodhi.

She is survived by her parents Douglas and Carmaline Emmons of Norridgewock; a daughter Naomi L. Poirier of Norridgewock, sons Randy J. Poirier of Norridgewock and Justin L. Poirier of Skowhegan; sisters Debra York of Norridgewock, Darlene Cole and her husband Lloyd of Madison, a brother, Thomas Rackliff II and wife Karen of Waterville; grandsons Vincent K. Farrand, Jackson R. Farrand, Hudson W. Farrand, Micah Poirier and Brently Poirier; nephews Todd Ward and wife Jessica of Portland, and Joshua Woodbury of Chester, Ill. She also has many other nieces and nephews; and close friends Martha Clements and David Jackson of Madison, Maine.

Cindy was predeceased by her loving husband Randy F. Poirier; her father, Thomas Rackliff Sr.; grandparents Royce and Blandine Frost; sister, Carlene Woodbury; niece, Jennifer Woodbury; brothers-in-law Ryan Poirier, Rick Poirier and John York.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Church of Faith, 798 Canaan Rd., Skowhegan.
