JAY — Three people were injured Sunday and one received life-threatening injuries when two vehicles collided on Route 133, police Sgt. Russell Adams said Tuesday.

A 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Angela Samperi, 31, of Livermore Falls was going south on the road when it lost control on black ice and traveled into the northbound lane and collided with a 2011 Subaru Forester driven by Amanda Maxwell, 33, of Auburn, he said.

Maxwell received life-threatening injuries and was taken by LifeFlight of Maine medical helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston and then taken by ambulance to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Adams said.

Samperi and her passenger, Billie Groves, 33, of Livermore Falls were injured and taken by NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

Jay officer Anthony York was assisted by Franklin County deputies, and Jay and Wilton fire rescue. Maine State Police reconstructed the crash.

State Route 133 was closed for at least two hours, Adams said.
