Joyce Poulin

AUGUSTA – We extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Joyce “Nana” Poulin on Jan. 12, 2024. Her final days were graced by the presence of her loving family.

Born on Aug. 11, 1943, in Millinocket, Joyce was the youngest of four children born to Charles and Glennis Pease. Her professional journey included working at the SAS Shoe Shop in Pittsfield for many years, as well as spending 18 years at Hathaway Shirt in Waterville, Maine where she served as a final quality inspector and forged lasting friendships.

Nana had a zest for life, enjoying camping, dancing, and the thrill of the casino. Photographs capture her dancing joyfully at her granddaughter Chelsea’s wedding just a few years ago. Her unwavering love and devotion were always directed toward her family, whom she placed above all else.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Glennis Pease, as well as her brothers Gerald and Robert Pease, and her sister Joan Small. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Dudley of Winslow and Tammy Benedict, along with her husband Jimmy Benedict of Litchfield. Her cherished grandchildren include Jamie Routhier and her spouse of Winslow; Jessica Routhier of Winslow; Chelsea Lopez and her husband Cameron of Auburn; Tyler Benedict and his fiancée Meaghan of Ellensburg, Washington; and Cassie Benedict of Tampa, Florida; and her two great-grandchildren Cooper of Winslow and Jackson of Tampa, Florida. Additionally, several nieces and nephews mourn her passing. Let us not forget Bentley, Tammy’s dog, who instantly fell in love with her.

Our family expresses deep gratitude to the staff at Maine General Hospital in Augusta for ensuring her comfort during her final days. In the spring, we will lay Nana to rest at a small family service in Pittsfield, Maine, at a family plot. May her memory be a source of solace and strength for all who knew and loved her.

Arrangements are entrusted to Mid Maine Cremation Services LLC, http://www.midmainecremationservices.com. 207-453-6006.
