WATERVILLE — Online registration is open for the 2024 Indoor Insanity 5K event, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 11, at the new Alfond Center for Athletics and Recreation at Colby College.

Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Registration opens at 7:15 a.m., with the first heat at 8 a.m.

All race registration fees will be used to fix radon problems in low-income Maine homes. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in nonsmokers, and the No. 2 cause of lung cancer overall. One third of Maine homes likely have a radon problem, according to a news release from event director Christy Crocker at the Maine Indoor Air Quality Council.

Runners and walkers can go to Indoor Insanity 5K at runsignup.com for more information and to register; walk-ins will be accepted on race day.
