SKOWHEGAN – Francis S. Johnson Jr. “Poop”, 65, of Skowhegan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, after a brief illness. Poop was born in Skowhegan, Maine, on January 31, 1958, to Francis S. Johnson Sr. and Dorothy M. (Vigue) Johnson. He attended Skowhegan Area High School, graduating with the class of 1976. He continued with “Local Union 976” until retirement in 2008.

Poop had a love for the outdoors that included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, and ATV riding. He loved to spend his winter days ice fishing Chesuncook Lake and his summers in the north Maine woods fishing various lakes and ponds. He also enjoyed welding, fabricating, and working on equipment whenever he had a chance. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Father-in-law Roger Wyman (whom he always referred to affectionately as “Pappi”) and wife June Wyman of Skowhegan, mother-in-law Judy Wyman of Canaan, and many close brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Poop especially cherished the memories he made with his brother-in-law Randy “Track” Wyman along with those made with many close friends over the years.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 10 from 1-5 p.m. at T&B’s Celebration Center in Skowhegan. A graveside memorial will take place later in the spring.
