AUGUSTA — Charles Hays Jr., chair of the Kennebec Savings Bank Board of Directors, has announced the addition of Brian Tarbuck to the bank’s board.

Tarbuck, a professional engineer, was promoted to general manager of the Greater Augusta Utility District (GAUD) in 2007 after serving as the assistant general manager for five years. Prior to joining GAUD, he worked as an engineer for the Maine Drinking Water Program. Tarbuck serves as commissioner of the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission, is on the Maine Board of Licensure of Water System Operators, and is past president of the Maine Water Utilities Association. Tarbuck earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass., according to a news release from the bank.

Active in the community, Tarbuck is a board member on the Augusta Board of Trade and served as its board president from 2018 to 2020. He is also vice president of the Kennebec Valley YMCA’s board, a member of the school board for RSU #38 in Manchester, and a graduate of the Kennebec Leadership Institute. He lives in Readfield with his wife and two children.
