The Aging in Place Committee welcomes its older residents to kick start their week by coming to Monday Muffin Mornings from 9-10:30 a.m.

The group is set to resume Feb. 5 at the Mount Vernon Community Center, 2 N Road. “The Aging Brain” is the kickoff topic.

Next, the group will meet Feb. 19 at The Starling Hall, 2769 ME-17 in Fayette. The topic speaker will be a chef from Hannaford.

On March 4, the group will meet at the Mt. Vernon Community Center. “Financial Legacy and Trust” will be the topic.

The group will meet next at Mill Stream Grange Hall, 128 Town House Road in Vienna, on March 18. “Share Your Family History” will be the kickoff topic.

Committee members continue to encourage conversations to learn about the barriers faced while aging at home and the resources needed to maintain a safe and healthy lifestyle.

While the focus of these mornings is on older residents, caregivers are invited to participate. They may have a different perspective on what assistance might be needed by those they care for, and this input will also be valuable.
