NORTH ANSON — The K-8 Carrabec Community School held a penny drive from Thanksgiving to Christmas to benefit the victims and families of the Lewiston tragedies.

The school sent $787.46 to the Lewiston Auburn Area Respond Fund. Most of the money was raised by the second grade classroom and one of the school’s seventh grade homerooms, according to a news release from Candy LeBeau, elementary coordinating secretary.
