NORWAY — The Alan Day Community Garden, Fare Share Food Coop and Western Foothills Land Trust invite community members to a dinner and contra dance.

Scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, this gathering is a tribute to the late Mellie Dunham, a cherished native Norway fiddle player and snowshoe maker, according to a news release from Kelli Shedd with Western Foothills Land Trust.

Taking place at the Norway Grange at 15 Whitman St., the event occurs on the eve of the 14th annual Snowshoe Festival held at Roberts Farm Preserve.

The evening will kick off with a community supper from 4-6 p.m., offering a chance to mingle, enjoy local fare, and celebrate Norway’s community partnerships. As the plates are cleared, the party will move upstairs for a contra dance from 6-8 p.m. The event will feature the calling of Bill Olsen and Pamela Weeks.

Tickets are limited to 100 and can be purchased at wfltmaine.org or at the Fare Share register. Attendees should purchase tickets by Sunday, Feb. 11, since there will be limited tickets at the door.

Tickets cost $15 for adult dinner only, $15 for adult dance only, $25 for adult combo, $5 for youth (12-17) dinner only, $5 for youth (12-17) dance only, and $10 for youth combo. It is free for children younger than 12.
