GARDINER — Carter Norton scored 21 points as the Mt. Blue boys basketball team defeated Gardiner 66-50 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A North game Wednesday night.

Tyler Abell added 17 points and Evans Sterling 15 for Mt. Blue (15-3).

Brady Peacock led Gardiner (3-14) with 15 points, followed by Zach Kristan with 14.

 

TEMPLE ACADEMY 70, RANGELEY 46: Peyton Reckards had 28 points and 14 rebounds as the Bereans (9-9) won in Waterville.

Nathan Corey added 24 points, including six 3-pointers, for Temple Academy, and Gabe Young scored 10. Ricardo Louis pulled down nine rebounds.

Brayden Thompson scored 17 points for Rangeley (5-13), followed by Sam Morrill with 16 and Anthony Whittier with 10.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

 

DIRIGO 48, OAK HILL 45: The Cougars (6-12) used a balanced scoring attack to earn the overtime win in Wales.

Sophia Nino-Aguirre and Emily Woods scored 11 points each for Dirigo, followed by Lana Waite with 10.

Mackenzee Wardwell scored 13 points for Oak Hill (1-17), followed by Kendall Theriault with 12 and Audrey McElhaney with 11.

 

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 46, KENTS HILL 14: Brooke Brown’s 16 points led the Falcons (9-9) to a victory over the Huskies (2-16) in Rumford.

Maisy Chase added eight points for Mountain Valley, while Alyvia Theriault finished with six points. Nine players scored for the Falcons.

Amelie Zachrisson was Kents Hill’s top scorer with four points.

 

MONMOUTH 38, LISBON 6: Kaitlyn Frost’s game-high 11 points led the way for the Mustangs in their road win in Lisbon.

Hailey Rooney drained a pair of 3-pointers and added eight points for Monmouth (7-10), while Reese Beaudoin scored six points.

Deanna Adams led Lisbon (-18) with three points.
