David Phillip Theriault

FARMINGDALE – David Phillip Theriault passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 5, 2024, from cancer.

David was born in Augusta on Aug. 30, 1955, the son of John J. Theriault, Sr. and Beverly C. (Tardiff) Theriault.

David had resided at the Hall Dale Manor in Farmingdale for the last 17 years. He lived in Augusta for all his life and attended Augusta schools. While at the Hall Dale Manor, he enjoyed a feeling of love and companionship among his many friends and staff there. David also enjoyed his daily trips and activities with Uplift Gardiner, Maine.

David was a very kind and loving person, always eager to help someone else in time of need. Prior to living at the Hall Dale Manor, he was living at home in Augusta helping care for his mother and father. While living at home, David could be found every day playing basketball at Farrington school playground. David also enjoyed watching all his favorite TV shows on ME-TV every day and taking his daily trips to Rite-Aid. David was always loving towards his siblings, always wanting to make sure they all had birthday and Christmas gifts from him.

David is survived by his sister, Cynthia A. Rayner of Augusta, brothers John J. Theriault Jr. and his wife Estelle of Augusta, Michael C. Theriault and his wife Carol of Augusta, Paul Theriault and his wife Mary Ann of Waterville; and several cousins.

David was predeceased by his mother, Beverly C. Theriault, father, John J. Theriault, Sr.; and his brother, Kenneth Theriault, and brother-in-law, David Rayner.

David’s family want to express their sincere gratitude for the care David received from all the nurses, doctors, and entire staff of Beacon Hospice. Also, David’s family wish to express their gratitude to the Hall Dale Manor staff, Destiney, Jen, Trishia, Robin, Jesse, Angie, Tammy, Carol, Pam, Diane and David the activities director, for their care, concern and love for David.

David’s visiting hours will be in the Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, 41 Western Ave., Augusta on Friday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manchester in the spring.
