Armand R. Fortin

AUGUSTA – Armand R. Fortin, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 6, 2024. He was born on Nov. 5, 1959, a son of Patricia (Vigue) and Raymond A. Fortin Sr.

Armand grew up in Augusta and graduated from Cony High School in the class of 1979. As a young man, he was employed at the Edwards Cotton Mill. Armand was a skilled painter and for many years he worked alongside his father and brothers in the family painting business. Over the last 10 years, he was employed at Millsy’s Cleaning Services.

A dependable person, Armand was always there for his friends and family. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Some of his favorite pastimes include celebrating the holidays, especially going “all out” decorating for Halloween. A patriotic man, Armand supported “Making America Great Again” and looked forward to the impressive 4th of July fireworks display enjoyed by friends and family of the Cony Road. He was a sci-fi enthusiast and enjoyed watching TV shows about aliens and bigfoot. Above all, he was devoted to his family, especially his mother who passed away in October of 2023.

Armand was predeceased by both of his parents; and a sister-in-law, Paula Fortin.

He is survived by his children, April Fortin, Amanda Fortin, and Thomas Fortin; grandchildren, Lilly Nicholas, Aven Nicholas, and Gemma Fortin-Shaw; his brothers Tim Fortin and his girlfriend, Cathy Isbister, Raymond Fortin Jr. and his partner, Paula Allen, and Randy Fortin and his wife Laura; his aunt, Sylvia Douin and her husband Dominique; a special cousin, Sandra Murphy; and several nieces and nephews.
