JAY — The ninth annual Spruce Mountain Sled-in and Winter Family Festival is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at French Falls Park on French Falls Lane, across from Spruce Mt. Middle School.

Those who plan to attend can ride in on their snowmobile via Whistlestop Trail or come by car and park in the recreation area.

Outdoor winter fun will include sliding on a snow mountain, sleigh and snowmobile rides by Andy Valley Riders, Snowshoe Snowman Scramble with cash prizes, bonfire and heated warming tent, s’mores and hot cocoa, and a scavenger hunt along the trail with prizes, according to a news release from the committee.

There also will be a raffle and 50/50 tickets for purchase, as well as pizza, soup and desserts for purchase by Gigi’s Pizzaroni.

People should bring sliding sleds and snowshoes. There is a limited number available at the event.

This event is put on by the Town of Jay Recreation Committee with the help of sponsors.
