Becky J. Lasselle

PITTSTON – Becky J. Lasselle, 73, of Pittston, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024. She was born on April 17, 1950, the daughter of Gaynol “Red” and Babette Rediker.

Becky graduated from Gardiner High School in 1968 and then from Beal Business College in Bangor.

Becky married John F. Lasselle, Jr. in 1970 and soon began a family the following year. Becky held a variety of jobs throughout her working career. Her first job was as a keypunch operator at Depositor’s Trust but shortly relocated to Pease Air Force Base in Eliot, Me. After Johnny left the service, they moved back to the Gardiner area where they remained for the rest of their days. Many, many children will remember Miss Becky as she worked at Mary Jane’s Nursery School in Gardiner for three decades. After Mary Jane’s, Becky moved into the catering world with White Flour Catering for a bit before landing her current job at O’Connor Auto Park as a driver.

Becky will be remembered by many for her unselfishness over the course of her life. She was always putting others first and giving more and more. She loved to cook, often preparing meals and desserts just so she could give it way. Becky loved to be on the go and was always looking to go shopping and have lunch. She wasn’t shy to be the life of the party and would gladly invite others to share in her love of life. She built so many friendships over the years – many people will miss her dearly.

As soon as Becky’s first grandchild was born, she was forever known as “Nannie”. Nannie couldn’t wait to become a grandmother and as soon as she was given the opportunity, she was the best Nannie any child or young adult could ever want. Nannie couldn’t spoil her grandkids and great grandson enough. She loved them beyond words and made sure they all knew how proud of them she was. She spoiled her family all throughout the year by buying gifts and mailing cards just because she could. Most of all the Christmas Jammie tradition was never up for discussion – it was going to happen. Period.

Becky was predeceased by her husband John F. Lasselle, Jr., parents Gaynol “Red” and Babette Rediker, sister Melinda Rediker, in-laws John F. Lasselle, Sr. and Louise Astle Lasselle, sister-in-law Joann, and brother-in-law Mark Kimball.

Becky is survived by her sister Debbie Kimball of Gardiner, Mike Kimball of Windham, Michelle Kimball of Augusta; son Michael Lasselle of Pittson, Kelly Lasselle of West Gardiner, daughter Melissa Porter and her husband Jeremy of Pittston; four special grandchildren Carlee, Camdyn, Logan, Lani, and Lani’s fiancé Hayden; one great grandchild Dawson John; and two nephews Scott McLaughlin of Gardiner and Jason Howe of Missouri. Most important of all, her best friend for over 10 years…her dog Gracie.

There will be no services at this time, a spring burial will be planned.
