Dean David Bowman

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Dean David Bowman, 64, of Aliso Viejo, Calif., died unexpectedly on Feb. 25, 2024.

Dean was born in Montpelier, Vt. in 1959, the son of Dr. William J. Bowman and Evalyn Bowman. Dean’s childhood was spent in Vermont, Michigan, and then in Skowhegan. He graduated from Skowhegan Area High School and Bloomfield Academy, class of 1977.

Dean had a passion for adventure which led him to head west immediately after high school, starting in Arizona and eventually residing in California. He loved living out west. He would often say how he missed the snow and he loved to reminisce about his childhood days on Elm Street, but the sandy beaches and warm weather of California became his home.

Dean was a talented artist and photographer. He had the gift of storytelling and making his mother laugh, especially when he was in “trouble.” One of Dean’s endearing qualities was his love for animals. His two kitties and pup were always spoiled, and they brought him so much joy.

Dean and his partner, Christina Castleforte, spent 23 years sharing the adventures and trials of life together. Christina will miss him greatly. Dean was a wonderful man and a compassionate caregiver to her. He was an exceptional cook, spoiling her with gourmet breakfasts whenever he could and making their home a wonderful place to be together.

Dean had many business ventures through the years. At the time of his death, he was a partner with NGMC Holding LLC., Crude Oil and Petroleum Products Industry and the CEO of Commodity Clearing House Corporation (C3), an international commodity trading firm. He loved his work and those he worked with. Making connections with others drove his passion. Many thanks to his lifelong friends Dino Changanaqui and Peter Davidson, whom he considered brothers.

Dean was preceded in death by his father, Dr. William “Bill” J. Bowman; and his sister, Susan M. Bowman Smart.

He is survived by his partner, Christina Castleforte, of California; mother, Evalyn Bowman of Skowhegan; sisters Sara Everett (James) of Skowhegan, Monica Bowman of Massachusetts, Pam Bowman Miranda of Maine and a brother, Robert Bowman of California; along with several nieces and nephews. He had a special bond with his nephews and niece, Joshua Everett, Jordan Everett, and Jade Everett of Maine.

A private service will be held at a date yet to be determined.

Keeping with Dean’s spirit, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to an animal shelter of your choice or in the simple gesture of sending your mother flowers as

Dean often did.
