HALLOWELL — Row House Inc., Hallowell’s Historical Society, is set to present “The Seamy Side of Hallowell” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in the City Hall Auditorium.

This program will present a snapshot view of crime in Hallowell from 1850-1950. There was extensive research into types of crime and individual incidents, Larry Davis, president of Row House, said in a press release.

The program will explore the climate that fostered criminal behavior and its causes; poverty, prohibition, and Hallowell’s position as a major port and industrial center.

There is no admission fee, but donations will be accepted.
