The town of Skowhegan has created a grant to help elderly Skowhegan homeowners who suffered damage during the Dec. 18 and 19 storm.

Grant amounts up to $1,500, but no more than 50% of the cost of the damage, are available for those who: are head of household; 65-plus years old; have damage to heating system, electrical, plumbing, existing radon gas systems and/or structure; are a Skowhegan resident; own the home that was damaged; the home is the primary residence; and property taxes are current.

To apply, download the form available at skowhegan.org, fill it out and mail it to Town of Skowhegan, Attention: Jeff Hewett, 225 Water St., Skowhegan, ME 04976, or email jhewett@skowhegan.org.
