I am responding to John Benoit’s letter published on March 10, “Biden’s good sense needs a checkup.” According to the president’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, President Biden “continues to be fit for duty and fully executes all of his responsibilities without any exemptions or accommodations.”

Dr. O’Connor consulted with medical specialists, with White House medical staff who see the president every day, and with fellow professors. One note is that his “gait remains stiff” as it has for some time, which others on the right seem to relate to mental incapacity. In summary, Dr. O’Connor notes, “President Biden is a healthy, active, robust male who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency.”

On Jan. 20, 2021, President Biden sent “The US Citizenship Act of 2021” to Congress, where the legislation was not discussed and no action was taken. In February 2024 a bipartisan group of senators drafted “The Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act.” Again, Congress did not pass that bipartisan legislation because of objections from Biden’s predecessor.

I hope that these facts set the record straight.
