Singer-songwriter Dennis Moro will perform at the Oasis of Music beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, at Trinity Commons in Lewiston.

Moro, a Maine Ole’ Opry member, started playing guitar at the age of 11 and is self-taught. He was on the road 15 years with Dakota as the lead guitarist opening for DAC, Sawyer Brown, and John Anderson to name a few. Later, he teamed up with The Stone Mountain Band touring the State of Florida, before joining the Blake Brothers when he returned to Maine for another 10 years. Moro continues his passion for performing lead guitar here in Maine, now 11 years with Roadhouse Band of Maine.

He is in the process of getting back to his roots and playing acoustic guitar, becoming active in the Country Music Associations of Maine, doing country shows from Hartland to Westbrook on Sunday afternoons. Moro has put together 10 acoustic songs on his new CD, available soon.

The Oasis of Music, held at Trinity  is a weekly music series of performances of roughly thirty minutes, running from September to May. Administration free, with donations accepted. The musical genres vary greatly, in largely, but not exclusively, acoustic format. Trinity Commons is located at 247 Bates St., Lewiston. For more information, call 207-344-3106.
