SKOWHEGAN – Alfreda C. (Violette) Therrien, 86, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, with her family by her side. Alfreda was born on Dec. 21, 1937, in Van Buren, Maine, daughter to Remi and Lena (Dube) Violette. Alfreda married Ernest Therrien of Skowhegan June 27, 1959. Alfreda, along with her husband, spent many years working in various shoe factories in Maine.

Alfreda loved spending time with her family and could make any get together a good time. She will be forever remembered for her dancing skills, had quite the fondness for Elvis, and was a mean Connect Four player. Alfreda was an avid crafter and spent hours doing many different types of crafts. Most of all, her family will miss Alfreda’s silly personality.

She was predeceased by her husband Ernest, son-in-law Jeff, as well as many sisters and brothers.

Alfreda is survived by her daughters, Brenda Barney and Angela Meacham; son Scott Madore with his wife Erin; grandchildren, Jessica, Jeremy, Gina, Nicole, Colby, and Kameron; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Madyson, and Lauren; as well as siblings Joseph Violette, Marie Francis, and Robert Violette.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
