Beatrice Beale Tate, a senior at Waterville Senior High School, is receiving the 2024 Principal’s Award.
The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic excellence, outstanding school citizenship, and leadership.

WSHS Principal Dr. Brian Laramee stated, “Beatrice (who plans to attend Yale University in the fall) is a wonderful student and even better school citizen. At WSHS she participated in a variety of clubs and organizations and held various leadership roles throughout her high school career including as president of National Honor Society, vice-president of Tri-M National Music Honor Society, captain of varsity cross country, and a four-year member of the Maine All-State Band,” according to a news release from the school.
Beatrice, Laramee, and other award winners and their principals are invited to attend an honors luncheon set for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Jeff’s Catering.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
