Dianne J. (Brann) Howard

BENTON – After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Dianne J. (Brann) Howard passed away peacefully at MaineGeneral Medical Center on March 11, 2024, with her loving son holding her hand.

Dianne was born in Augusta on Nov. 14, 1954, the daughter of Paul and Eleanor Brann. She graduated from Messalonskee High School in 1973 and earned her degree in Bioscience from Kennebec Valley Technical Center.

Dianne retired from Elanco (f/k/a Lohman Animal Health) in 2021. While working at Lohman Animal Health, she met her husband, Gerald Howard Jr., and they were married on Aug. 26, 2006. Her coworkers provided her with many funny and heartwarming memories, which she shared frequently. She also made some lifelong friends, who she cherished greatly.

Dianne was predeceased by her parents; siblings, Darrell Brann, Cherryl King, and Donna Jenney; and granddaughter, Callie Noonan.

She is survived by her husband; son, Derek Jenney, his wife, Angela, and their sons, Kevin and Glenn, of Waterville; fur babies Diamond and Ruby; daughter, Dori Noonan, her husband, Brad, and their children, Tyler, Dawson, and Brooklyn, of Oakland; great-granddaughter, Lydia Noonan; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Young (whom she lovingly nicknamed Bob), and her brother-in-law, David, who were with her throughout this journey.

The family would like to thank the staff at Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care for their caring and compassionate care of Dianne during her battle. Although she lost her battle, they will continue to fight the war. They would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta, for their care during Dianne’s final hours.

Dianne’s life will be celebrated at her funeral on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 12 p.m., at Shawmut Chapel, 57 Bray Avenue, Shawmut, Maine.
